6:21 pm
Today i possibly had the second best day of the year. (for best day see wednesday september 6th. still glorious). I slept in which is rare for me because usually when i have nothing on, i wake up at the crack of dawn and can't get back to sleep. I had breakfast and read The Princess and the Captain (for work. like a bodice ripper but for teenagers. so basically no sex) was a bit disappointed with ending but oh well. Left the house to get some tempura udon. Had lunch. had a nap. Sat down to read the Muddle headed wombat ("for work" but really because i love it and have for ever) and had a pot of tea. And this evening i think we will play cards after dinner. i am so blissfully relaxed i could just melt into my matress and become part of the bed.

9:24 pm - last day at B & B...
last day working at bag and baggage, and seriously, it was like all the freaks were out today giving me a send off.
1st) skanky white trash-y couple came in and stole wallets (including the ugliest wallet in the whole store....this awful emerald green plastic-y guess monstrosity) and had to talk to security about it blah blah blah, describe their ugly clothes (sounds mean but i was able to describe quite well due to the fact that i had been surreptitiously (sp.) marveling at how someone could go out so badly dressed)
THEN while Rita was off running around with security this guy was in the shop late thirties, early fourties, looking at laptop bags etc etc, i was kind of chatting to him about skanky thief couple, he had had a bit of a look for them, then he goes to me "can i get your number, maybe we can go out some time?!" which, you know what, is weird. weird on ice if you please. and i said so. he says "am i making you uncomfortable?" i say "yes this is weird" (subtext: i dont go out with guys who are two decades my senior)
THEN in car in carpark wanting to leave, queued up for booth, when this woman who was parked with her boot to the queue of cars tried to back into the middle of the queue and crashed straight into the car in front of me. que screaming match with lots of hand gestures, me sitting in car being bored wanting dinner.

anyway: also have general question to anyone out there:
do you believe in ghosts/spirits/hauntings etc..

welcome i get at new job: girl i work with telling me all about her lesbian experimentation, the fact that she never dates straight guys, and her leopard skin furry handcuffs...after we've known each other for about ten minutes. quite full on initially. and not initially as well. as in full on all the time.
anyway.
interrogated by rita last night, have french essay that is evil, and those bothersome exams. (all two of them :) ) so apart from the only two exams smiley, this week gets a :( in general and heres to hoping that summer will be a million times better than this semester.....(which isn't that high a goal to shoot for....classes and two jobs vs. one job and beach time)
anyway...back to my red liquorice and Coupling dvd.

well its no surprise really that i am posting at this point in time. 11:45pm here in lindfield. have currently written about 234 (just an approximation...) words of an essay which has to be finished in about nine hours.
i am bored, exhausted (probably due to the million other assignments i've had due this week and the visiting relatives (not that they werent nice) and stressed to the point of pulling my eyelashes out.
OH and the sizing of stuff on my computer has gone bizarre bizarre bizarre and everything is huge...as in the entry box for updating livejournal has to scroll crossways to fit it all in and out computer screen is pretty wide. anyway any one who can fix it please tell me how becausse its annoying me a lot.
i feel a little like bernard in the first episode of black books actually when he has to do his tax return and procrastinates...i'm hoping for jehovahs witnesses at the door any second now...

Two things:
one is a freaky story some may have heard before but i just can't stop thinking about it.
babysitting on saturday night, enquired after the family's pet mice only to be informed that the mother mouse had eaten her sis babies. AND they were a few weeks old and had started to grow fur and stuff. AND you could see all these lumps inside her. and i am literally shuddering just thinking about it. oh god.

in other news:
today = best day ever. glorious.

11:42 pm - Another Rant (but this one has a reason behind it)
ok so i know its terribly cliche to hate the mature age student in your tutorial but omfg you would hate jan too if you met her. she is in my art history tute and today she spent ten minutes talking about Picasso's influence on seventies fashion in regards to him being the inspiration for flares. when the question was what are the two main aspects of cubism. FLARES?! are you kidding me. i thought it could't have gotten worse when in the 19th Century photography tutorial she spent the whole time talking about architecture in Canberra. (when i say the whole time i mean she probably talks as much as the tutor). But it gets much worse. She started talking about THE MEN in Picasso's Desmoiselles d'Avignon. A painting of five FEMALE prostitutes. Obviously female due to the fact that they are all naked. According to her there are three men in the painting. WHERE THE HELL ARE THESE MYSTERIOUS MEN? AND THEN she started talking about a map of the world, and a cauldron which were apparently depicted in this work which we had just spent ten minutes talking about the fact that it was a portrait. i am not sure if that sentence made sense entirely but i think i am entitled to a little non making sense ness.
ALSO someone else in the tute i didnt see who asked who les demoiselles was by. You would think that an Art history student would know who painted it seeing as it is one of Picasso's most famous works AND we had just spent fifteen minutes talking about how Picasso and Braque started off cubism and Picasso's Demoiselles is a good example of one of the starting points. grrrr
rant over

Ok so i haven't posted in a million zillion years.
AND this post is me whining about a problem i have.
and the problem is so ridiculous i fully expect everyone to say 'suck it up you whiny bitch'
HOWEVER i intend to proceed (look on it as me venting)
I am honest to goodnessly pining for Paris. it sounds ridiculous but i am. stupid hannah and stupid claire and stupid richard were all over there recently and i wasn't. i sound spoiled and annoying but its the truth. i want to go and stay in the apartment we no longer have, sit on the cherry sofas, eat a raspberry tart from the patisserie across the street and ashamed as i am to say it, walk past Franck and giggle. i want to have crepes, i want to be able to wear my coat without being just a touch too warm, i want to go on tons and tons of old fashioned carousels, i want to go to laduree and have macaroons, i want tapenade dammit.
maybe its knowing there is a little jar of it not only in Australia, but only a 20 minute drive from my house....only problem is i have had work or uni every day for the past two weeks and i want my fucking tapenade.
I want to go to Shakespeare and Co, and if i hadn't already found Pylones, i would want to drag someone on a four hour walk along the left bank looking for a certain arrangement of shops that would signal my shop was near. it has gotten to pathetic i am rereading Almost French, French Spirits, but someone hit me over the head with a large mallet if i reach for Azur Like It. You would think this would be encouraging me to do my french assignments. not so. instead i indulge in a bit of ridiculous self pity and a dosage of trashy books.

i am fully aware this is the most ridiculous thing ever written on the internet (except maybe some of the stuff on Pamela Anderson's blog which i found out about in Who) but i dont care.

6:44 pm - Splendid, Splendiferous Splendour
While the twelve hours there and back on the train were boring and annoying as hell, we had to camp (laugh all you want at the idea of us camping), and it was muddy muddy muddy...it was worth it. Getting to see: Youth Group, Death Cab for Cutie(!), The Avalanches, Grinspoon, Sonic Youth, The Zutons, The Vines, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother, Scissor Sisters and Brian Wilson (singing Good Vibrations and Fun Fun Fun!) was amazing amazing amazing.

Yes we were sinking into the mud, yes i am pretty sure the drunk girl behind me at Death Cab would have vomitted on me had her friend not taken her out of the crowd, yes i almost got wiped out by enthusiastic Grinspoon moshers, yes anna and i had a 'nice' guy say we could stand in front of him because he was tall who proceeded to grope my arse exceedingly obviously (not in a Kanye West 'did that guy just grope me inappropriately or was it just the crowds' way but in an 'i am incredibly sleezy and lecherous and obviously grabbing' kind of way), yes that guy at the Vines concert threw a cup of his own urine onto the crowd (thankfully in the opposite direction), and yes we met Bryce who took an immense liking to us and didn't shut up for the entire train ride home (16 hours from tent flap to front door) but everything that happened just made it one of the most outrageous weekends ever.

I just wish we had've brought gumboots.

You scored as atheism. You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul.

Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.

1:42 pm - I am loving:
I am loving:
The Kaiser Cheifs
The Dresden Dolls

On another note, if anyone wants to buy me a plane ticket to England, a ticket to the Reading festival (despite the fact that they are sold out) and some how get me permission to skip uni for a while i would be grateful. How come Leeds and Reading get almost every single one of my favourite bands playing there, when everyone says Leeds is a hole and Reading is marginally better (no offence intended). I know i have been complaining about this for aaages but i've just found out the entire line up which includes about seven more bands i am dying to see. Thats seven in addition to the ones i already knew like Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, Panic! at the Disco and Kaiser Chiefs. Sob sob sob. Australia sucks. England and Japan get everything.

8:51 pm - Hong Kong
Hong Kong is fabulous and fun except when it is number 1 typhoon-ing. grar. went to China yesterday, recognised someone saying 'nali nali' and realised they had just been paid a compliment. AND when i said that i was studying chinese, they understood! although then they said something which was long and complicated the only part of which i understood was 'you are studying chinese'. which i had just said. l. and i got manicures, pedicures and foot massages for about $10 which was very nice, although my manicurist (who was a seperate person to the pedicurist, seperate to the masseur ,all of whom had a different limb of mine simultaneously) wasn't impressed that i wanted plain red nails as opposed to white with sparkly flowers. she was a little intimidating. as were the zillions of people who called me missy and tried to sell me fake gucci (or sometimes guci) handbags. fun fun fun.
about to go out to agave (fun fun fun mexican bar with mohitos, margaritas and a HUGE tequila menu)....here is hoping that there is zero - little hang over tomorrow morning.......

take a little time off...then you're spiraling out of control with foreign words rushing through your head making no sense whatsoever, stressing about existentialism, spain, manorialism, needles. you wake up on the tiled floor in front of the heater, realise you lost an hour just to sleep and the whole thing starts all over again.

did you ever feel like halting everything in the whole world just to catch up on sleep, reading, eating.

my eyelashes are falling out and it's scaring me.

anna's party = fun
cosmopolitans, saMbos, bitching about doa, not having tissues, having anna's hat but no pants, frolicking, flying fox, pizza and tea at 2 in the morning, cupcakes (with purple icing)... although was dissapointed about the lack of (usually) ever present chocolate milk in the shelton-agar fridge.
